PAVEL ŠEFČÍK // I am an architect based in Zurich, specializing in the independent management of complex building projects as well as the application and development of BIM methodology and digital planning processes.Born in 1984 in Budweis (CZ), I wavered between technology and architecture. After studying architecture in Prague with stays in Copenhagen and Mexico, I gained my first professional experience in the Czech Republic and have been working in Zurich for over ten years. My work spans from single-family homes and residential buildings to schools, from competitions to construction sites. Some of my recent key projects include the Zürich Wollishofen railway area and the Guss Bülach School, where I served as architect and project leader during the tender and construction planning phases, with a strong focus on BIM methodology, including BIM2Field processes. My broader experience also includes interior architecture and retail design, product design under my own label Paul Wood, and collaboration on a private jet terminal at Prague Airport.Beyond design work, I am engaged in developing new workflows in architectural practice. I see BIM, AI-assisted tools, and innovative collaboration methods as means to reduce fragmentation, communication breakdowns, and unnecessary friction in complex projects—with the goal of focusing more on precise planning, clear communication, and high-quality architecture.
